I’ve been a picky eater all my life.  I struggled with brain fog, fatigue, and dry skin for a long time.  Something just wasn’t right.  I’ve been to many Doctors including Functional Medicine Doctors and had tons of tests and supplements with no significant improvement.  Coming to Alkaline was a blessing!  I lost weight, have more energy, and understand the importance of using food as medicine.  I always learn new things at Alkaline and feel that they are the true healthcare I was looking for.

It’s when we don’t that we are left with food as a coping mechanism or are left with inability to digest the foods properly.

Leslie’s been personally mentored by Dr. Connie for over three years as a Nutrition Therapist.  She graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Nutrition and specializes in Autoimmune Health. 

She is also a Registered Yoga Therapist, Pilates Instructor, Heart Math Practitioner, Interactive Metronome Certified Practitioner, and Alkaline Method Certified Practitioner.

I found that the Alkaline Detox was not nearly as difficult as I had thought it would be and have definitely learned some healthy new eating habits that I have continued in the weeks after the program has ended. From about day 12 of the detox, I have felt a significant improvement in my pain level and overall quality of life. At the end of the detox I happened to visit my primary care physician for a cholesterol recheck and was thrilled to discover that my non-HDL cholesterol dropped from 194 to 118. My doctor told me to definitely continue what I was doing!


I feel like I have noticed a definite improvement in my level of daily fatigue, overall mood, and emotional resiliency. It is as if a fog has been lifted off of me. I look forward to continuing my work with Dr. Connie has also been an enormous source of emotional support during this journey and I can’t thank her enough!

What type of clients benefit most from nutrition therapy?

Because we believe food is medicine, nutrition therapy can help clients who are struggling with any sort of symptoms, including weight gain, headache, fatigue, digestive issues, psychological issues (anxiety and depression), and more.

Will I be on a specific diet?

We don’t believe in a “one size fits all” diet. Infact, we don’t believe in a “diet”.  Every person is different, genetically, biochemically, and in a different stage of life. Therefore we each have different needs nutritionally. We work with you functionally  to determine how your lifestyle may have an impact on your diet and your health, then determine which foods, or food plan, would best help you reach your health goals.

Will Nutrition Therapy make me feel better?

Absolutely. But you have to be willing to put in the work. Our Nutrition Therapist will guide you in making diet changes that are best for you, but you have to put that knowledge into action and actually make those changes. We know change is hard, and our Nutrition Therapist will be there with you every step of the way. You just have to be ready and willing to make those changes.


What is an alkaline diet?

We believe living Alkaline is a way of life. And it’s all about balance. Our bodies function best in a slightly Alkaline state (pH of 7.35-7.45). Certain foods can shift us towards an acidic state, and other foods can shift us towards an alkaline state. An alkaline diet is having a healthy balance of both states. We believe eating whole foods most of the time, and being able to indulge in our vices some of the time is the way to go. Whole foods include lots of fresh vegetables, moderate amounts of fruit, lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats, and limited, highly processed foods.

Will I lose weight?

While losing weight is not the primary goal, it’s usually a great motivation for most of our clients.  If you losing weight is your specific goal, then we help you lose weight and keep the weight off by helping you to nourish your body while teaching you ways to build muscle.  Muscle mass = Metabolic Boost.

Can you help me to feel better?

Absolutely.  Using food as medicine, we teach you how to eat mindufully to nourish your body.  We believe tuning into our body is key to successful and thriving life.  Too often we ignore the signs and symptoms from our body and seek external help when all along you had all the answers right in front of you.  By design, you’ll be able to master your body in ways you never thought possible.  We help with long lasting health benefits to serve you for the rest of your life.

Which Diet Do You Promote?

We don’t believe in diets.  Diets come and go because it doesn’t work.  Rather than chasing the next fad, we focus on physiology, biochemistry, genetics, lifestyle, stage in life, and microbiome of the individual we treat.  Then we taylor a specific food plan to suit the needs of our clients and remain flexible to set you up for success.

Is the plan hard to follow?

Generally, most people know what healthy diets look like but don’t know how to implement in their lives.  Foods we eat are habitual and we eat the same foods day in and day out.  Our Alkaline Nutrition Therapist will work with you to make the transition easy and hold you accountable every step of the way.  So no, it’s not hard to follow, its super easy.  You have full access to our Alkaline App to help you to not only stay connected to our Therapists, but also to keep track of your progress.
